Idar Kotsev from Nalchik To Represent Russia at “Our Generation 2023” International Children’s Song Competition

On October 11, Moscow held the Russian qualification round of the “Our Generation” competition. Talented children and young people from various regions of Russia came to Moscow to compete for the right to represent Russia in the finals.

The jury included artists and creatives. The jury heard 30 newly written songs performed by the participants who came to Moscow from Kazan, Surgut, Ulyanovsk, Voronezh, and other cities. The professional jury selected 12-year-old Idar Kotsev from Nalchik to represent Russia in the finals of the competition. Idar will perform the song “You’re All with Me.” Idar loves music and has been studying singing from a very tender age. He also takes part in school activities and is a member of the “Movement of the First.”

Idar shared his impressions with us and said that he is happy to represent Russia at such a large-scale competition: “Indescribable feelings! The song ‘You’re All with me’ was written by professional composer Igor Smirnov. I helped him to create it. Together we selected the rhythm to make sure I would be able to handle the song and to give the audience a ‘WOW’ effect. This song is about the people who surround me, including my parents and teachers. Without them I wouldn’t be singing. I can’t wait for the competition. It will be hard, very hard even, but I’m sure it will also be amazing. I don’t want to let down my country, and I want to represent it as best as I can.”

Main organizer and founder of the competition: “Contemporary Art Academy” Creativity Development Center. General partner: TINKOFF BANK. Strategic partner of the competition: “Movement of the First” All-Russian Social & State Movement for Children and Young People. Media partners: NTV and Love Radio. The competition is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
